TerminOrgs maintains the TBX-Basic specification.

What is it?

TBX-Basic is an XML format for recording terminological data such as terms, definitions, and usage notes. It is a public dialect of TBX, which is an ISO standard. TBX-Basic reflects industry best-practices for terminology databases that are used for content production purposes such as authoring and translation.

The most recent version is Version 3.1, updated September 12, 2014.

A new version is under development in 2024.
